Skáldið, þýðandinn og bóndinn David Gislason frá Arborg í Manitóba hefur hlotið fjölda viðurkenninga fyrir störf sín í þágu menningar.&nbsp; The first part of the book consists of poems written by Gislason, the second of his English translations of poems written by Icelandic immigrants and Canadians of Icelandic descent from the late nineteenth century to modern times, and in the third and final section of the collection, the reader is presented with Gíslason’s translations of poems, written by Icelandic poets throughout several past centuries. At the end of each section, Gislason provides the reader with information on the poets involved, describing also the circumstances leading up to the writing of both his poems and his translations.
